About the role
We are Alsco Uniforms, a worldwide leader in uniform and linen rental since 1889. We seek a Safety and Production Specialist who can integrate safety management and production engineering to enhance our operations in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Nevada.
Responsibilities
- Set clear expectations, recognize success, and address performance needs.
- Utilize key performance indicators; lead with a sense of urgency to drive and positively impact safety, quality, cost, and speed.
- Partner with Regional Manager and General Managers to develop, coach, and train production management teams and build talent pipeline.
- Develop and sustain employee development and training programs to bolster capability.
- Provide concise, action-driven site summaries and guidance for locations and follow-up.
- Safety
- Develop and manage health, safety, and loss control policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, training, and incident investigations, and provide reports to leadership.
- Design and implement safety training programs, including new employee orientation, emergency preparedness, hazardous material handling, and the use of protective equipment.
- Investigate workplace incidents, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures to reduce accidents and occupational illnesses.
- Oversee safety compliance, conduct safety audits.
- Production Process Improvement
- Plan, design, and implement methods to improve production processes, focusing on increasing efficiency and reducing operational costs.
- Review existing production methods, identify inefficiencies, and recommend solutions aligned with organizational goals.
- Ensure production processes comply with quality standards and approved methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement changes and ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor and evaluate production performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and sustain high productivity levels.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years’ experience in safety management and production engineering.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Prior multi-location / multi-state experience.
- Leverage lean manufacturing and safety certifications.
- Demonstrated experience of continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies.
- Solid computer skills including MS Office.
- Analytical skills to evaluate processes and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to engage teams and drive change.
