About the role
The Regional Safe Routes to School Coordinator leads Land of Sky Regional Council's Safe Routes to School Program.
Responsibilities
- Works directly with schools, families, and communities to make it safer and easier for children to walk, bicycle, and roll to school.
- Through education, outreach, encouragement, and strong partnerships, helps students build lifelong transportation safety skills while supporting schools in creating safer arrival and dismissal practices.
Requirements
- Experience in community engagement and program management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in fields such as public health, urban planning, environmental studies, or related field.
- Experience in safe routes to school programs or similar initiatives.
- Knowledge of local government processes and policies.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
