About the role

Reporting to the North American Director of Recruiting, the Regional Recruiting Director leads recruitment efforts within the South Central region (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas). This role includes managing a team of recruiters, driving recruitment results, and partnering with regional leadership.

Core competencies: Servant leadership, business partnership, industry knowledge, curiosity, and strategy/sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a full recruitment desk with dedicated internal customers.
  • Supervise, lead, and onboard Area, Senior, and Entry-Level recruiters.
  • Partner with operational and business group leadership to align recruitment strategies with business needs.
  • Conduct routine in-person meetings and monthly check-ins to provide recruitment metrics.
  • Prioritize top roles within the region consistently.
  • Develop, train, and mentor recruiters, serving as the daily point of escalation for recruiter questions.
  • Ensure tools (OMS/JAX, LinkedIn, ZoomInfo) are maximized, sourcing strategies are developed, and results are obtained.
  • Assess and balance recruiter workloads, collaborating with other Regional Recruiting Directors and the North American Director of Recruiting to establish a culture of workshare.
  • Drive effective university relationships with top universities in the region, identifying university champions to promote the HDR brand.
  • Establish a team atmosphere among recruiters, including coverage plans for absences and routine team catch-ups.
  • Participate in the selection of new recruiters.
  • Ensure recruiting metrics, KPIs, and quality assurance (e.g., time to fill, offers made, acceptance rates) are met.
  • Assess and recommend enhancements to talent acquisition strategies (technology, staff, structure).
  • Champion diversity recruitment efforts, partnering with dedicated diversity resources to drive hiring results.
  • Conduct presentations for recruiters and hiring managers on talent acquisition strategies and tactics.
  • Extract, analyze, and act on data supporting talent acquisition strategies.
  • Partner with HR in the region to contribute meaningfully to the entire employee lifecycle.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive recruitment experience within the region.
  • Previous experience leading recruiters as a supervisor or mentor.
  • Expert-level knowledge of recruitment technologies and strategies.
  • Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written, and presentation).
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.
  • Resides or willing to relocate to the defined region (Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas).
