Regional Quality Lead Engineer
About the Role
As the primary liaison between Quality Management and Service Operations, you will support Fossil gas turbine, steam turbine, and generator outage activities across multiple regions. Your responsibilities include collaborating with Regional Directors, supporting Regional Quality Engineers, reviewing outage readiness documentation, conducting targeted site visits, and leading quality investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Mentorship: Provide daily offsite quality support to onsite Regional Quality Engineers (RQEs) and participate in regional safety and quality calls. Coach and support RQEs to drive lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Quality Management System: Define and implement a quality plan for outages in accordance with contract and quality governance. Support service operations in planning and securing results, and cooperate with regional directors.
- Quality Planning: Support RQEs with establishing and monitoring quality surveillance plans. Define quality targets based on outage scopes and requirements.
- Quality Reporting: Report quality status, incidents, and root-cause analysis to the regional director. Develop lessons learned and continuous improvement projects. Escalate project-endangering situations to Quality Management.
- Quality in Processes and Projects: Perform targeted onsite quality oversight during outages to verify adherence to procedures and quality plans. Log quality incidents and support root cause investigations to manage non-conformance and corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Plan, initiate, and coordinate continuous improvement actions post-outages. Ensure good practice sharing and feedback of experience through workshops (e.g., lessons learned) and post-outage surveys.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality management, outage execution, or field service operations.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and presentation skills with proven use of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) tools.
- Ability to drive collaboration and produce effective results.
- Authority to intervene at any project stage in case of non-conformance in proceedings or results.
- Willingness to travel to outage sites as required.
- Legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
