About the Role

Responsible for managing all purchasing activities related to their assigned category in line with the respective purchasing strategy in their region.

Responsibilities

• Manage Berea, KY PO process for all orders
• Support Berea plant side activities and projects
• Develop Regional commodity strategies and Regional (Mexico / Brazil) Cost Reduction projects
• Manage the supplier selection process for key commodities
• Negotiate Regional contractual agreements
• Support new program launches and equipment at Berea
• Perform cost analysis, cost reduction strategies, market analysis, and quoting activities
• Long-term planning and development of suppliers and commodity base

Requirements

• Ability to analyze and interpret large amounts of data (costs/supplier proposals)
• Demonstrated strong and effective negotiation and decision-making skills
• Ability to seek ongoing cost reduction activities to establish, meet, and exceed goals
• Ability to lead groups and delegate responsibilities as needed
• Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management
• Ability to handle multiple projects independently to achieve department and company objectives
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• High ethical standards of professional conduct and a basic understanding of contract law

Qualifications

Bachelor of Business Administration or related field preferred, or Associate Degree in Business Administration field.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in purchasing or a related field.

Schedule

Ability to work 40–60 hours per week.

Travel

The candidate will need to travel to suppliers and/or Astemo locations as required. International travel may also be required.
