About the role
A regional PR Specialist for Amazon, based in the Charleston, SC metro area, with the ability to travel to other Amazon sites across the state and the Southeast region. The role involves managing external storytelling, building Amazon's reputation, and amplifying content through various media channels.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage external earned storytelling for Amazon sites in South Carolina, including events and media relations activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support local news announcements and develop media materials.
- Manage complex communications challenges and provide counsel to internal executives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media members and influencers.
- Represent Amazon as a spokesperson in various media formats.
Requirements
- 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- High acumen and experience with PR crises management.
- Research and integrate industry news, trends, and compelling angles into PR programs.
- Acute awareness of local socio-political landscape and keen insights into community concerns.
- Bilingual speaking ability in Spanish (optional but preferred).
