Regional Nurse Consultant (Registered Nurse/RN)

Job Requirements

• Education: Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree (RN) from an accredited college, university or nursing school.
• Experience: Must have at least 3 years of experience as Director of Nursing (DON) in a long-term care facility and must have multi-site experience.
• Specific Requirements: Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Georgia (or Compact License from another state).
• Languages: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Travel: Must be willing to travel overnight (moderate to frequent).
• Decision Making: Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Communication: Must be willing to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agency personnel, and the general public.
• Nursing Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
• Leadership: Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care.
• Residents: Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
• Residents Information: Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
