Regional Nurse Consultant

About the Role

This position combines two key objectives: partnering with facilities as the primary clinical resource to achieve clinical excellence, and assisting in the development of clinical programming and processes that differentiate our services. As the Regional Director of Clinical Operations, you will interface with the Regional Director of Operations, Director of Staff Development, Facility Rehab Director, MDS Coordinator, and others to drive operational and clinical success.

Relocation to Northern New Mexico is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist facility management with implementing resident care policies, procedures, and company standards of practice.
• Conduct facility reviews, including mock survey visits, to assess compliance with Federal and State regulations and Company standards; prepare reports as needed.
• Communicate identified problems, recommend solutions, and maintain ongoing discussions with leadership to ensure clinical quality assurance of interdisciplinary processes.
• Provide relevant educational information to facility nursing teams to support solid clinical decision-making.
• Design and implement specific learning activities and formal educational programs.
• Identify trends in resident care and collaborate with facility teams on quality improvement programs.
• Evaluate nursing and clinical practices for consistency with Standards of Professional Practice, State Nurse Practice Act, and compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Apply leadership skills to assist and direct others toward defined goals, linking people and resources to achieve objectives.
• Assist in managing challenges and facilitate team progress toward desired outcomes.
• Establish and maintain effective communication with internal staff, external consultants, and partners.
• Assist in the interview process for Director of Nursing Services positions.
• Facilitate the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) in Care Management processes.
• Assist in the analysis and direction of the nursing department budget and nursing labor hours.
• Support PPS and RAI processes with a focus on clinical implications for reimbursement.
• Manage HMO, Change of Condition, and Level Authorization processes.

Requirements

• Active RN license (in good standing).
• Minimum of 5 years of long-term care experience, required.
• Minimum of 2 years as a Director of Nursing.
• Regional experience preferred.
