About the role

After notification by the Transportation Coordinator, you will safely transport residents, patients, clients, and other individuals external to Liberty Health facilities. You will maintain a calendar of all appointments, ensure transports are completed, and follow safety guidelines for resident transports. You will also maintain required paper/electronic logs for each transport and vehicle, complete Quality Assurance monitors, and assist in maintaining professional relationships with the community, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities.

Additional duties include basic vehicle maintenance, inspections, restocking, cleaning/disinfecting vehicles and equipment, and other tasks assigned by your supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport residents, patients, clients, and external individuals to appointments as scheduled.
  • Maintain a calendar of all transport appointments and ensure completion of assigned transports.
  • Follow all safety guidelines for resident transports.
  • Maintain required paper/electronic logs for each transport and vehicle.
  • Complete Quality Assurance monitors according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining professional relationships with the community, hospitals, physician offices, and other healthcare facilities.
  • Perform basic vehicle maintenance, including inspections, restocking, and cleaning/disinfecting vehicles and equipment.
  • Transport clients throughout North Carolina and other operational areas as directed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a genuine concern for the elderly and disabled.
  • Must possess CPR, First Aid Training, and wheelchair safety training.
  • Must hold one of the following certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Emergency Medical Responder (EMR).
  • Must complete a skill checklist with a Liberty trainer prior to transporting residents.
  • Must have a valid state Driver’s License with an appropriate driving record.
  • Criminal and driving records must be approved by the Transportation Manager.
  • Must be willing to work with department directors, patients, family members, and community healthcare providers.
  • Must have the ability to plan, organize, and follow up on work assignments.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions and work well under pressure.
  • Must be flexible in performing different tasks.
  • Must be willing to transport clients throughout North Carolina and other operational areas as directed.
