About the role
The Direct Purchase Regional Lead - Project Manager (DPRL-PM) serves as the main point of contact for regional stakeholders, including Regional Directors, Project Executives, Owners, OPMs, Developers, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors. This role oversees Direct Purchase responsibilities in a region, managing the full lifecycle of scope/packages—from early engagement to close-out—while ensuring budget, cost, schedule, risk, resource, quality, and safety compliance. The DPRL-PM drives business development through networking, marketing initiatives, proposal preparation, and interviews, and implements a "Raving Fans" action plan to deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Early engagement in the project preconstruction process
- Provide initial Direct Purchase equipment budgetary and lead time information
- Define Direct Purchase scope, conduct constructability reviews, and confirm final scope
- Identify project Owner flow-down requirements with the project team and legal
- Identify Direct Purchase Vendors
- Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFP)
- Coordinate Requests for Information (RFI)
- Review RFP responses, conduct descoping sessions, and perform bid leveling
- Identify and mitigate risks in proposals
- Prepare Direct Purchase Recommendations
- Award Material Purchase Orders
- Conduct project and vendor kick-off meetings
- Expedite, review, coordinate comments, and approve submittals
- Release scope and provide ongoing expediting
- Review updated project documentation and drawings to identify scope changes
- Manage changes as appropriate
- Coordinate equipment inspection, testing, transportation, and storage
- Coordinate vendor support for installation and start-up
- Manage Warranty certificates and related work
- Coordinate final For Record (FR) documentation
- Conduct package close-out, capture lessons learned, and gather feedback
- Solicit and incorporate project feedback (Raving Fans)
- Update systems to ensure accurate package status
- Oversee regional financials, including cost reporting, monthly requisitions, invoice review/approval, and cash flow management
- Proactively address and communicate financial issues
- Collaborate with the wider Direct Purchase team to update and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Direct Purchase within the specified region, attending regional meetings as needed
- Represent Direct Purchase and the broader Arch Energy/Consigli business at external events
- Mentor and manage multiple team members
- Evaluate team member performance, identify training needs, and conduct development sessions
- Perform safety walks with field and safety staff and record observations
- Assist in interview preparation for project pursuits
- Lead the development and management of optimal project profit opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture preferred
- 5+ years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on full lifecycle purchasing, project management, or a similar role
- OSHA-10 and OSHA-30 certifications preferred
- Proficiency in cost management software (Timberline, Sage preferred), scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred), and construction management software (Procore preferred)
