Regional Lead Data Center Electrical Engineer, Google Data Centers
About the role
Our thirst for technology is a part of everything we do. The Data Center Engineering team takes the physical design of our data centers into the future. Our lab mirrors a research and development department -- cutting-edge strategies are born, tested and tested again. Along with a team of great minds, you take on complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You're a visionary who optimizes for efficiencies and never stops seeking improvements -- even small changes that can make a huge impact. You generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside facilities technicians.
Responsibilities

- Represent DCS in the development, implementation, and management of electrical designs at the site and regional portfolio level, starting from the Basis of Design (BoD) through to the issuance of construction documents for new builds, infrastructure upgrades, and renovations.
- Act as escalation point for on site engineers when responding site-specific engineering Requests for Information (RFI), ensuring alignment between Google's requirements and the overall design.
- Work closely with the core engineering team to provide site-specific requirements during the development of the Basis of Design (BOD) and coordinate system-level schematics.
- Provide leadership to on-site DCS engineers, general contractors, and vendors to manage site-level power system issues during project execution.
