Position Summary

The Regional International Service Employee (ISE) Care Leader offers spiritual, emotional, and practical support to ISEs and their families living and working cross-culturally. The primary role is to foster missionary well-being and promote ISE service longevity through regular interaction, contact, occasional visits.

Compensation

Part-time exempt position with benefits
Remuneration Range: 83-96% ($79K - $91K annually)

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains regular contact with assigned ISEs and families to provide ongoing support and care.
  • Aids ISEs in developing and implementing personal care plans, coping strategies, and self-care practices.
  • Provides spiritual support through prayer, encouragement, and offering resources to help ISEs maintain and deepen their faith.
  • Conducts up to six (6) field visits annually to engage with ISEs in their service locations to assess well-being and support needs.
  • Offers compassionate care and timely support to ISEs experiencing stress, conflict or burnout, including referrals to professional services when appropriate.
  • Provides regular ISE care reports to ISE Care & Support Manager.
  • Offers feedback and recommendations to enhance overall ISE care, support strategies, and program effectiveness.
  • Contributes to the development, evaluation, and curation of missionary care resources and tools.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s (BA/BS) degree in human services, psychology, professional counseling or related field preferred. At least one term as an ISE/IDE in international denominational services is required.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Well-developed knowledge of principles, policies and beliefs of the General Conference and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Working knowledge of ISE polices, procedures, and practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement when handling sensitive information. Must possess cultural sensitivity and adaptability with the ability to effectively respond to the diverse contextual needs of missionaries. Proficiency in basic computer applications, including internet navigation and email. Ability to effectively use virtual communication platforms such as Zoom, social media, etc.
