Regional Human Resources Generalist

Apple Rehab Cromwell is a 74-bed skilled nursing community located in Central Connecticut. Its suburban setting at the top of a hillside offers views of the surrounding areas, and it is easily accessible from Route 91 and 9. Apple Rehab of Cromwell provides progressive nursing and therapy services in the region. The company is family-owned and operated, treating residents and staff like family, with senior management based locally in Avon, CT.

About the role

This position oversees two facilities in the Cromwell area and serves as the Regional HR/Payroll Coordinator. The role pays up to $70,000.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate hiring and recruiting efforts with facility management.
• Interview and screen qualified candidates, recommending them for Manager’s review.
• Arrange interview schedules with other staff members as appropriate.
• Conduct all pre-employment processes, including reference checks, background checks, pre-employment physicals, and drug screens.
• Make job offers with Administrator approval.
• Set up orientation programs for new hires and coordinate with appropriate personnel.
• Ensure benefits and company policies are thoroughly reviewed.
• Follow up to ensure employees receive appropriate orientation and schedule additional training if needed.
• Assist Supervisor in planning and holding staff appreciation events and functions.
• Work with Supervisor to evaluate new hire performance prior to the 90th workday and conduct yearly employee evaluations.
• Plan, organize, develop, and implement all payroll functions in accordance with company policies, federal, state, and local regulations, ensuring accuracy and organization.

Requirements

• 4 years of HR experience.
• Strong knowledge of Human Resource laws and regulations.
• Experience working in an HR department with recruitment and on-boarding responsibilities.
• Payroll experience with a flexible schedule for holidays.
• Prior experience overseeing HR tasks and duties for multiple facilities/entities.
• Self-motivated individual with superb time management skills and the ability to work with a sense of urgency.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Experience in a nursing home or other healthcare setting.
