Austin Industrial is seeking a qualified HSE Professional to join our team in La Porte, TX. This role involves up to 30% travel.

About the role

This position provides leadership in all aspects of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) for Austin Industrial. The individual will guide HSE performance and culture to a best-in-class level, aiming to eliminate incidents and accidents through direct oversight, leadership, and direction for a designated region.

Responsibilities

  • Support the vision and strategy of the HSE department.
  • Guide, direct, coach, and assist site safety personnel.
  • Provide direct HSE oversight and audit of assigned sites and projects.
  • Support company efforts of visible leadership by visiting job sites and interacting with employee-owners, site leadership, and customer leadership.
  • Oversee and support the regulatory compliance process.
  • Oversee and support all Austin HSE programs and processes.
  • Participate in and delegate actions to support company and HSE objectives, initiatives, campaigns, and projects.
  • Represent the company in key strategic relationships, including but not limited to NCCER, Area Safety Councils, and Local Business Roundtable.
  • Support organizational emergency preparedness.
  • Partner with Operations Management.
  • Manage the HSE onboarding process.
  • Support the development of area and site safety personnel.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in HSE is preferred. Required: Associate’s degree in HSE or certification as one or more of the following: BCSP OHST, BCSP CHST, NCCER Construction Safety Technician, NCCER Safety Technology, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the management of safety and health processes.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management-level experience.
  • Industrial, manufacturing, and construction experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated collegiate-level computer skills, communication skills, and technical writing, with an aptitude for mastering additional skills required for the position.
  • Must be willing to travel to other job sites within the supporting region.
