Regional Field Sales Manager- Midwest Retail
About the role
We are seeking a highly impactful Regional Field Sales Manager to support the Midwest Retail accounts. The ideal candidate will be a key member of the retail field sales team, responsible for developing, selling, and maintaining a customer base for the Prairie Fresh portfolio of products.
Responsibilities
- Execute the region’s strategic sales plan and be the voice of the customer for assigned accounts.
- Develop and manage the customer relationship in the assigned geography; grow distribution of the value-added portfolio; participate in regional trade shows and customer events; and maintain a broker network that achieves region goals.
- Identify potential growth areas for customers, provide products, pricing, and strategies to successfully grow business.
- Stay informed of perishable protein markets in the assigned region and communicate this information to supervisors and other team members to assist with pricing and sales decisions.
- Monitor and assist with the collection of receivables and unauthorized deductions to maintain the balance and attain targeted levels.
- Prepare weekly reports on all sales activities.
- Manage region’s sales expense budget and accruals.
Qualifications
- Proven track record with minimum 5+ years’ experience in the fresh meat and/or processed proteins sales industry with retail value added meat sales and program selling experience, specifically in the retail sales channel required.
- Ability to analyze, develop and execute strategies to maximize net marketing margins while developing and expanding new markets resulting in an increased sales volume to meet company objectives required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ability to write routine reports and to read and interpret price lists and availability reports.
- Highly self-motivated, assertive, and can speak effectively to customers while maintaining a high level of ethics and integrity.
- 60% overnight travel expected within region as well as travel to Kansas City headquarters and Midwest production facilities for customer tours, sales meetings, and training.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

Schedule
As needed to support sales and customer efforts within the region. The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
Work Environment
- Primarily in the field with visits to the corporate office and customer headquarters common.
