Regional Facilities Manager, 2 Hour Learning - $200,000/year USD

Crossover · Travis County, TX · Yesterday
Management$100/hrFull-time

What You Will Be Doing

  • Executing scheduled on-site assessments across Central Texas locations using documented standards for cleanliness, HVAC performance, safety protocols, security measures, signage, landscaping, furniture condition, and tour readiness— and converting assessment results into verified corrective action
  • Prioritizing facilities problems and urgent situations, coordinating vendor response, and confirming resolution before closing tickets (urgent within 24 hours, standard within 1 week)
  • Overseeing regional vendor execution against service-level agreements, terminating consistently underperforming vendors, renegotiating contract scopes, and conducting direct accountability discussions regarding quality and cost performance
  • Establishing a weekly operational cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure consistent execution of standard routines across all locations
  • Overseeing significant campus improvements (HVAC system updates, interior design refreshes, landscaping projects, AV/network infrastructure) delivered on schedule and within budget while minimizing student disruption
  • Documenting enterprise standards and AI-supported procurement frameworks (utilizing ticketing platforms, IoT/predictive maintenance tools, and centralized procurement) to ensure uniform campus launch and operations
  • Delivering concise weekly written updates on regional quality metrics, vendor performance data, escalated issues, and capital expenditure variance

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Operating remotely via dashboard — this position demands frequent physical presence at Austin and 20–40% travel time to regional locations across Central Texas
  • Leading new campus design or managing ground-up construction projects — capital expansion responsibility resides with a separate team
  • Establishing company-wide procurement policy disconnected from field operations — your standards emerge from direct site observation
  • Working within established reporting structures with direct authority over all personnel your success depends on — you will establish accountability through documentation, written communication, and rejection of imprecise vendor commitments
  • Treating "tour-ready only during leadership visits" as acceptable — persistent problems receive root cause analysis, not repeated ticketing
  • Operating in continuous reactive mode — audit schedules and predictive maintenance systems exist to identify failures before they generate complaints

Basic Requirements

  • Located in the Austin, TX metropolitan area or within commuting distance, prepared to work primarily from the Austin campus with 20–40% regional travel requirements
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • 5+ years managing multi-site facilities, regional operations, hospitality operations, retail operations, or school operations
  • Documented success managing vendor-provided services for quality, cost efficiency, and SLA compliance across multiple sites
  • Hands-on experience addressing urgent facilities problems (safety hazards, HVAC failures, security incidents, cleanliness issues) with quantifiable customer experience outcomes
  • Consistent written operational practices: issue documentation, escalation communications, vendor tracking, weekly regional quality reporting
  • Practical experience with contemporary operations platforms (ticketing systems, IoT/predictive maintenance solutions, AI-enabled procurement or planning tools)

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Multi-site leadership experience in premium hospitality, luxury retail, private K–12 education, or healthcare systems serving demanding clientele
  • Demonstrated history of vendor replacement and development of improved local vendor networks
  • Experience directing capital improvement initiatives (HVAC systems, AV/network infrastructure, landscaping, interior updates) in active, customer-facing facilities
  • Familiarity with AI-first operational environments where automated playbooks, dashboards, and predictive tools handle routine tasks while personnel focus on strategic judgment
