Regional Facilities Manager, 2 Hour Learning - $200,000/year USD
About the role
You will maintain a high standard of safety, reliability, and inspection-readiness in K–12 facilities throughout Central Texas. Your efforts determine whether a facility sustains its premium character or quietly deteriorates between leadership reviews.
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled on-site inspections using established criteria for various aspects of the facilities (sanitation, HVAC systems, safety protocols, security measures, landscaping standards, furnishings, and visitor readiness).
Convert observations into confirmed remedial actions and address facility problems and urgent situations, coordinating service providers and closing work orders only after confirming complete resolution.
Oversee regional vendor compliance with service-level agreements, terminate contracts with underperforming providers, renegotiate work scopes, and conduct direct conversations regarding quality expectations and cost accountability.
Establish a weekly operational cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure uniform campus procedures rather than ad hoc problem-solving.
Execute significant facility improvements (HVAC system updates, interior design refreshes, landscaping projects, audiovisual and network infrastructure) within timeline and budget parameters while minimizing student impact.
Document enterprise-wide protocols and AI-supported procurement frameworks (leveraging ticketing platforms, IoT and predictive maintenance systems, and centralized purchasing) to ensure consistent campus launch and operation.
Deliver concise weekly written summaries covering regional operational quality, vendor accountability metrics, escalated issues, and capital expenditure tracking.
Requirements
Located in or within commuting distance of the Austin, TX metropolitan area, prepared to work primarily from the Austin campus with 20–40% travel across the region.
Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
5+ years managing multi-location facilities, regional operations, hospitality services, retail operations, or educational facility operations.
Documented success managing vendor-provided services for quality standards, cost efficiency, and service-level compliance across distributed locations.
Hands-on experience addressing time-sensitive facility challenges (safety systems, HVAC failures, security breaches, sanitation issues) with quantifiable customer experience outcomes.
Proficient written operational discipline: issue tracking logs, escalation documentation, vendor correspondence, weekly regional performance summaries.
Confirmed use of contemporary operations technology (ticketing platforms, IoT and predictive maintenance tools, AI-enhanced procurement or operational planning systems).
Nice-to-have Requirements
Multi-location operational leadership within premium hospitality environments, high-end retail, private K–12 education, or healthcare systems serving discerning clientele.
Experience building or rehabilitating a regional operations framework where previous approaches depended on individual effort rather than documented standards.
History of terminating underperforming service contracts and developing a reliable regional contractor network.
Experience operating in an AI-enabled environment where standardized playbooks, analytics dashboards, and predictive tools handle routine tasks so personnel concentrate on strategic decisions.
Background directing capital improvement initiatives (HVAC replacements, audiovisual and network upgrades, landscaping overhauls, interior renovations) in active, customer-facing facilities.
