About the Role
As a Regional Team Leader in one of our Southeastern RTL office locations (Tampa, Miami, Maitland, Atlanta, Boca Raton, or Chattanooga), you will play a key role in advancing CDM Smith’s mission by supporting your team’s career growth and operational success.
Responsibilities
- Support your employees’ career journey, including identifying and completing appropriate training, achieving professional registration/certification, and assigning challenging projects.
- Communicate, integrate, connect, and engage with team members, and select suitable mentors as part of the Career Compass Program.
- Celebrate team members at important milestones (e.g., work anniversaries, promotions, professional registration).
- Conduct timely and authentic annual performance appraisals, coordinating with technical mentors, project managers, TDMs, and others.
- Leverage and apply intellectual property, particularly through Community of Practice participation.
- Recruit, interview, and hire new employees (as approved with the TDM) to support project workload and firm growth.
- Deliver a legendary client experience with attention to quality and instill a sense of personal ownership for work product quality in each team member.
- Coordinate workload within your Technical Services group and align with utilization goals, collaborating with your TDM for appropriate technical staff assignments.
- Manage the team’s financial performance, including utilization, direct labor, and profitability.
- Provide sales support as coordinated with the TDM.
- Approve time sheets and expense reports in a timely manner.
- Ensure team members complete all required training (Compliance, Health & Safety, Ethics, etc.) on time.
- Ensure compliance with QA/QC and Health & Safety procedures for project delivery.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- 12 years of related experience.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required (10% or less). The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and project demands.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong technical understanding of electrical engineering.
- Experience leading teams developing engineering designs of moderate to high complexity to meet client project requirements.
- Experience with electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and similar electrical systems.
Pay
Pay range: USD $134,264.00 – $248,394.00. This range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. Salary is determined by role, function, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, education/training, and geographic location.
Additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses, which are not guaranteed for this position.
