Regional Distribution Center - Warehouse Associate

About the role

As the nation's premier tire distributor, ATD's coast-to-coast distribution network provides approximately 80,000 customers across the U.S. and Canada with rapid and frequent delivery of high quality tires, custom wheels and shop supplies.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and pick material to fill orders
• Load and unload product on delivery trailers/containers
• Maintain, handle, and move physical inventory within the RDC
• Arrange RDC stock by product line and physical alignment, allowing sufficient space for overflow
• Check all incoming and outgoing orders for accuracy
• Perform periodic facilities maintenance and custodial/housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning the loading dock and area surrounding building; keeping floors clear of debris
• Assist with administrative tasks, including handling and preparing paperwork
• Stage products for outbound loading and handle all units with care
• Report overages and shortages to the Lead Person/Operations Supervisor; submit regular reports of damaged and defective products
• Verify all incoming and outgoing products for accuracy in quantity, size, and type; inform management of inventory and supply shortages and assist with periodic inventory counts
• May train and support new associates

Qualifications

• High School or GED degree
• 0-1 year of related experience preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

• While performing duties, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell
• Must occasionally lift products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds
• Handling of tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) greater than approximately 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
• Travel required: 5% of the time
