Job Purpose
As Quality Director, the role will be responsible for developing a world-class quality culture and driving region-wide continuous improvement projects that result in unparalleled quality performance. You will have the opportunity to reinforce foundational quality principles, as we develop innovative manufacturing, test, inspection, and automation processes to build high-quality semiconductor, defense, and data infrastructure products. This position will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering all functions of the region’s Quality Management System.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor QA organizations.
- Be an outspoken advocate for Quality First throughout the region.
- Expediently and effectively communicate with customers on quality escapes, visits, escalations, etc.
- Help maintain and improve the site QMS (including NCR and CAPA system, internal audit, training, etc.).
- Responsible for ensuring effective quality planning (including PFMEAs, process flows, and control plans) for NPI and production parts.
- Help maintain the site QMS compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and TL9000, ISO 13485, FDA registration, and any other regulatory compliance in line with the factory center of excellence.
- Act as advisory to developing additional sources of data and tracking and reporting key Quality-related performance indicators (KPIs), including first pass yield, scrap rates, and statistical process control.
- Oversight of managing and improving site supplier quality.
- Be an advocate for lean and six sigma manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement.
- Drive cross-functional projects with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering to verify and validate existing manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Coordinate development of Quality Plan and participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews for new customer on-boarding.
- Address process yields by driving cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions utilizing a methodical approach (DMAIC) to root cause and continuous improvement.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or Mfg Engineering preferred.
- 10+ years of Quality Engineering or Management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment. Printed circuit board experience is a plus but not required.
- 5+ years of direct people management.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with customers to resolve concerns, conduct audits, and host visits.
- Understanding of ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, TL-9000, ISO-14385, ISO-14001, MIL-PRF-31032 or similar standards with demonstrated success in passing certification audits.
- Expert level knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and corrective action.
- Hands-on experience working with suppliers to improve quality.
- Knowledge and experience in the application of statistical process control.
- Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams in a dynamic environment required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.
- Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise, and problem solve, as well as manage multiple tasks and projects and concisely explain complex issues supported with data.
- Excellent analytical abilities and comprehensive understanding of quality toolbox (SPC, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.).
Pay
Salary Range (annual): $140,000 - $165,000
