Position Responsibilities
- Provide individual consultative, referral, and case management services to RC Soldiers and their families; conduct and document bio-psycho-social assessments, including substance abuse assessments.
- Serve as the administrative point of contact for PHP programs within the assigned region; coordinate with RC leadership on behavioral health initiatives, policy, and planning.
- Facilitate, track, and report results for a variety of psychological health programs; liaise with other behavioral health programs, boards, and directives.
- Plan and coordinate regional behavioral health meetings; provide verbal reports to COR within one day and written summaries within one week of significant events.
- Maintain active caseload; complete accurate documentation in compliance with applicable regulations and DHAPM 6025.13, Volume 4.
- Respond to critical incidents, including postventions, TEM, and CISI services, as qualified and directed by the RDPH-TL.
- Support RC events: Yellow Ribbon Programs, SRPs, resource fairs, psychoeducation briefings, and other health promotion activities.
- Travel nationally as needed to support units, training events, and program requirements.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes; complete required AT Level I training and annual refreshers within prescribed timelines.
- Maintain state licensure(s) for each jurisdiction where services are delivered; report any changes in licensure status immediately.
Requirements
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW): MSW from a CSWE-accredited institution; current, valid, unrestricted LCSW in the state of performance; clinical social work experience through MSW practicum or 2 years post-MSW in a clinical/treatment setting within the last 3 years. OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) / Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC): Master’s in Counseling, CMHC, or similar from a CACREP-accredited institution; 2 years post-graduate clinical counseling experience within the last 3 years.
- Understanding of military culture, the Military Health System, TRICARE, and VA services as they pertain to the RC.
- Experience in complex organizational environments; willingness to travel nationally.
- Must obtain and maintain licensure in each state where telephonic or in-person services are provided (no portability under 10 USC 1094).
- Professional liability insurance: $1,000,000 per occurrence / $3,000,000 aggregate.
- Clear LEIE, TRICARE sanction query, and FBI/state background check required.
- U.S. citizenship or authorized work status; ability to obtain CAC (Tier 1 investigation).
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Prior experience with Reserve Component or National Guard behavioral health programs.
- Familiarity with the Yellow Ribbon Program, Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP), and RC unit support functions.
