About the role
Supporting the Midwest and reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, this position will oversee 3–6 markets. The Regional Director of Operations is accountable for meeting profitability and operational performance goals while ensuring Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system compliance in area Shacks. You will work closely with marketing and recruiting to drive guest traffic and build internal talent pipelines to support company growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop strategic and operational plans for assigned market(s), set goals, lead execution, measure results, and identify operational opportunities.
- Place and develop Area Directors to meet growth and performance needs; consult with Area Directors and General Managers to analyze current business and plan future improvements.
- Maintain and strategize management bench strength in preparation for growth; communicate and uphold expectations on deliverable information.
- Lead teams in ensuring compliance with safety, administrative, and legal procedures.
- Own the operational start-up budget for new locations and manage the R&M budget by prioritizing resource needs.
- Plan and coordinate roundtable discussions or conference calls within market(s) to ensure consistency in operational goals, messages, and regional initiatives.
- Ensure open communication and understanding between Home Office disciplines and operations.
- Demonstrate intensity and conviction to address and find solutions for operational shortcomings.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of multi-unit restaurant management experience, preferably supporting a global brand.
- Hands-on experience developing training programs and assessing skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
- Travel required.

Pay
Pay range: $129,570.50 – $219,228.00. The salary paid to a successful applicant will depend on experience, qualifications, business needs, resources, and location.
