Regional Director of Operations – Medical Aesthetics
About the Role
Our client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed platform acquiring and operating leading medical aesthetics practices across the United States. As the Regional Director of Operations, you will oversee a portfolio of clinics throughout the Western United States, leading operations, coaching local leadership teams, integrating newly acquired businesses, and helping build the operating infrastructure of a rapidly scaling organization.
This highly visible leadership role reports directly to executive leadership and offers significant ownership of business performance. You will begin with approximately three to four locations, expanding as the company continues its aggressive acquisition strategy.
Responsibilities
- Operational & Financial Leadership
- Take full ownership of the operational and financial performance of a regional portfolio of medical aesthetics clinics.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability, operational excellence, and overall portfolio performance.
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs) across assigned locations.
- Partner with executive leadership and Finance to develop forecasts, budgets, business plans, and regular performance reviews.
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify opportunities to improve provider productivity, patient experience, profitability, and clinic performance.
- Develop and implement strategies that enhance operational consistency while supporting the unique needs of individual practices.
- Multi-Site Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Practice Managers across multiple clinic locations.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability through structured operating rhythms, regular business reviews, and consistent communication.
- Build and reinforce a high-performance culture centered on accountability, collaboration, patient service, and continuous improvement.
- Serve as the primary operational partner and resource for clinic leaders, providing guidance and support on day-to-day and strategic business challenges.
- Identify and develop high-potential leaders while strengthening the overall management capabilities of the regional organization.
- Growth & Integration
- Lead the operational integration of newly acquired practices into the broader company platform.
- Partner with executive leadership on acquisition due diligence, operational assessments, transition planning, and post-close integration.
- Develop and implement standardized processes and operating practices while preserving the strengths, culture, and customer experience of individual practices.
- Support the launch and adoption of new services, operational initiatives, technologies, and best practices throughout the region.
- Help establish scalable operating infrastructure capable of supporting continued acquisition activity and organizational growth.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Finance, Marketing, Compliance, Technology, and executive leadership to execute strategic business initiatives.
- Partner with vendors and internal stakeholders to optimize operational systems, resources, and processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall patient and provider experience.
- Contribute to the development of scalable processes, systems, and organizational infrastructure that support the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or other advanced business degree preferred.
- Approximately 8–20 years of progressive experience in operations leadership, multi-site management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success leading multiple locations within healthcare, medical aesthetics, dental, dermatology, plastic surgery, or another multi-site, service-oriented environment.
- Experience working in a private equity-backed, high-growth, acquisition-driven, or similarly dynamic organization strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of owning business performance, including P&L responsibility, revenue growth, profitability, and operational KPIs.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical capabilities, with the ability to interpret data and convert insights into actionable business strategies.
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change and ambiguity while developing structure and scalable processes in a rapidly growing organization.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach and a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Genuine passion for the medical aesthetics industry and a commitment to delivering an exceptional patient experience.
- Willingness to travel approximately 40–50% throughout the Western United States.
