About the Role

The Regional Director (RD), Rare Neurology will report to the Executive Director, Strategic Customer Engagement, Rare Neurology and be responsible for recruiting, leading, developing, and retaining the Rare Neurology Medical Specialist team in the West Region. The RD ensures strong and consistent sales performance that exceeds forecast and expectations, driving accountability for all results within the assigned region to establish a major presence in the Rare Neurology market. The role involves close collaboration with counterparts to ensure cooperation and transparency, as well as working with Training and Development to foster personnel growth. All activities must comply with Regeneron policies and U.S. regulations governing pharmaceutical and biologic product promotion.

Location: West (California, Oregon, Washington) – Remote role.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop a high-performing, high-integrity sales team and provide overall leadership.
  • Meet or exceed assigned sales objectives, aligning action plans with strategic brand initiatives.
  • Lead regional sales force activities, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and development while ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
  • Ensure team members are trained on and effectively implement customer education.
  • Communicate industry and competitor product knowledge to the regional team.
  • Ensure participation in industry-related trade shows, meetings, and conferences.
  • Analyze sales and customer data to deploy appropriate resources in the region.
  • Allocate and manage the region’s budget and promotional resources.
  • Drive consistent performance to meet or exceed brand objectives and product sales goals while demonstrating accountability.
  • Build credibility and relationships with key customers (e.g., regional/local clinical experts, advocacy groups) in Rare Neurology.
  • Ensure Rare Neurology Medical Specialists are recognized as clinical experts in their field.
  • Develop and execute an Incentive Compensation plan for the field team in compliance with corporate objectives.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to analyze and address market dynamics supporting brand and collaboration goals.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Payer environment, reimbursement challenges, and evolving healthcare systems.
  • Travel extensively within the region as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory; Master’s degree or advanced certification is a plus (science-focused degree or clinical experience preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience, with 5 years in sales leadership/management, including 3 years as a Regional Director/District Manager in Rare Neurology.
  • Experience with complex therapies (e.g., REMS, Biologics, specialty pharmacy) in Rare Disease or Neurology (e.g., Myasthenia Gravis, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, Epilepsy) highly preferred.
  • Proven success as a Regional Director/District Manager in complex markets, with a track record of high integrity and performance.
  • Experience hiring, coaching, developing, promoting, and retaining top talent.
  • Ability to develop physician/customer clinical experts within a regional scope.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and collaboration skills; ability to partner with internal teams and alliance partners.
  • Demonstrated history of leading high-performance sales teams and driving regional objectives.
  • Product launch experience is a plus.
  • Experience selling to diverse customer segments.
  • Understanding of reimbursement challenges for buy-and-bill products or relevant Rare Neurology experience.
  • Ability to analyze sales and market data; strategic thinker who challenges the status quo.
  • Leadership skills including motivating, mentoring, and providing professional development.
  • Must reside within the assigned territory (West Region).

Pay

Salary Range (annually): $210,800.00 – $266,200.00.
