Component pay structure: average pay $90,000 - $100,000.

About the Role
Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers' products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition. They are the face of our company, building lasting relationships with customers.
The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely, timely, and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and timely. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities
- Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; ensure they meet company safety standards and report any issues or repairs needed.
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines; immediately report any safety hazards.
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
- Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns; bring to driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork at end of shift.
- Unload equipment and materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
- Comply with daily record-keeping and hours of service requirements, adhering to DOT, state, and company policies.
- Uphold overall safety standards and follow guidelines for proper handling of freight throughout the delivery process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
- 6 months – 1 year of commercial driving experience.
- Foodservice distribution industry experience.
- Experience with onboard computer and electronic log systems (e.g., PeopleNet).
- Experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems (e.g., POD).
- Customer service-related work experience.
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Meets PFG Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) requirements for the past 3 years.
- Pass pre-employment drug test.
- Meet PFG FMCSA Clearinghouse Requirements.
- Pass road test.
- Able to secure a new DOT Medical Card.
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight (60–90 pounds) throughout shift.
- Must be able to work the assigned schedule required for the position.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English; proficiency is required.
