About the role

Join Ulta Beauty’s Beauty Services team as we redefine the industry through better execution, deeper education, and strategic partnerships. As a Regional Services Education Manager (RSEM), you’ll lead a team of 9 to 16 Services District Educators (SDEs) to implement service training for salon professionals, ensuring consistency in field education and driving talent and guest retention. You’ll partner with District Managers and the Regional Vice President to provide thought leadership on education and development, while supporting growth in services, including Personal Care Appliances and ProHair.

Responsibilities

  • Champion Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, demonstrating them consistently in all projects and duties.
  • Assess salon business health using reports and tie results to education initiatives.
  • Leverage technology (e.g., Microsoft Office, POS systems) proficiently.
  • Manage multiple tasks with strong organizational and critical reasoning skills.
  • Communicate effectively with associates and executives in fast-paced, ambiguous situations.
  • Coach, develop, and provide feedback to Services District Educators (SDEs) on performance, efficiency, and results.
  • Attract, hire, and retain a diverse team of SDEs for the region.
  • Train District Managers and SDEs on education practices and facilitate "train the trainer" sessions.
  • Build a team culture that embodies the Ulta Beauty brand and delivers exceptional service.
  • Lead change and innovation, guiding the region through transitions.
  • Manage SDE development through IDPs, onboarding, and monthly regional education calls.
  • Partner with Regional Service Manager to maintain cohesion between Services District Leaders (SDLs) and SDEs.
  • Support the Regional Vice President (RVP) and District Managers (DMs) in developing action plans and goals.
  • Facilitate training for audiences of various sizes and audit education during store visits.
  • Build strong partnerships across associate levels and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Identify gaps in education processes and propose solutions to drive growth.
  • Support networking and recruiting strategies within the region.
  • Execute the Salon Legendary program within the region.
  • Support the RVP and DMs in growing the salon business to meet or exceed financial metrics (e.g., service revenue, guest retention, rebooking, retail revenue).
  • Demonstrate business acumen with salon financial reporting and identify growth opportunities.
  • Manage multiple tasks, including planning, prioritization, and delegation.
  • Partner with leadership to build trust and rapport across the organization.
  • Communicate verbally and in writing, breaking down information into clear steps.
  • Write business strategies, coaching programs, and operational modules with the Salon Services team.
  • Lead district/region execution of salon operations and business-building initiatives.
  • Conduct onboarding and training for District Managers, Salon Market Trainers, and Salon Managers.
  • Maintain high standards for customer service, salon image, and the ULTA Experience service model.
  • Coach operational salon skills to achieve results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant, fast-paced retail management experience or equivalent.
  • Experience with financial management, including driving top-line sales, interpreting data, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expenses.
  • Knowledge of state board of cosmetology regulations and hiring requirements.
  • Leadership experience in attracting, developing, and motivating top talent, adapting to change, and fostering collaboration.
  • Proven ability in retail management, including monitoring inventory, achieving operational excellence, and executing merchandise directives.

Skills

  • Proficiency with technology (e.g., POS systems, Microsoft Office, Apple devices).
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks with moving parts.
  • Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and adapt flexibly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for various audiences.

Special Position Requirements

  • 2 years of multi-unit management experience.
  • Up to 75% travel required.
  • Continuous mobility throughout stores on a daily basis.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing a ladder.
  • Flexible full-time schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $88,200.00 - $109,000.00 per year, with additional compensation opportunities through the company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will depend on factors such as education, qualifications, certifications, experience, and geographic location.
