Refrigeration Technician (Charleston, WV Area)
About the role
Our technicians provide service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for commercial refrigeration, foodservice equipment, ice machines, and light commercial HVAC systems throughout West Virginia and Eastern Ohio. This is a field-based position. Technicians are dispatched from home, provided a company vehicle, and supported by a team of coordinators and service professionals. This position does not include residential service work.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration and HVAC equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service work
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system issues
- Read and interpret schematics and technical documentation
- Complete service reports and work orders accurately
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
- Deliver professional, customer-focused service
- Work safely and independently in the field
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Knowledge of refrigerant recovery, charging, and management
- Experience calculating superheat and making TXV adjustments
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer and mobile technology skills
Preferred
- 2+ years of commercial refrigeration service experience
- EPA 608 Certification
- West Virginia Commercial HVAC License
- Experience with refrigeration controls and programming
- Rack refrigeration experience
- Commercial ice machine experience

Schedule
Primarily Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM. Occasional overtime, early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed. On-call rotation with additional compensation.
