About the role

The position involves operating and controlling plant refrigeration equipment, repairing, troubleshooting, maintaining, inspecting, and adjusting complex refrigeration processes to ensure uninterrupted cooling requirements. This role requires a Level III RETA Certification and is currently enrolled in Level IV.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and control all plant refrigeration equipment
  • Complete work orders as assigned
  • Assist other level refrigeration mechanics as needed
  • Repair, troubleshoot, maintain, inspect, and adjust complex refrigeration processes
  • Adhere to all safety requirements, including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters
  • Prepare daily/weekly reports for all work completed, hours spent, and materials used

Requirements

  • H/S, Technical, Vocational, or advanced schooling, formal training and/or general-level maintenance with journeyman and/or certifications in one or more disciplines
  • 5-7 years of industrial manufacturing or skilled trades experience, including a combination of on-the-job and informal training
  • Level III RETA Certification
  • HazMat Trained
  • Advanced knowledge of theory and skills to safely and successfully function as a senior level mechanic

Qualifications

Education and experience requirements include formal training and/or certifications in relevant fields, along with practical experience in industrial manufacturing or skilled trades. Candidates should have a strong background in refrigeration mechanics and possess Level III RETA Certification.

Skills

Essential skills for this role include strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of electrical controls and applications is also crucial.
