Refrigeration Technician - 2nd Shift

About the role

As a Refrigeration Technician, you will play a critical role in the operation, installation, repair, and maintenance of ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment while adhering to Process Safety Management standards, responding to work orders, and troubleshooting issues to keep equipment running at peak performance.

Responsibilities

• Safely isolate and pump down any section of all systems.
• Perform line opening procedures.
• Receive or transfer ammonia in all plant systems.
• Perform routine maintenance on Ammonia compressors, air compressors, ammonia liquid pumps, ammonia system controls, refrigeration system condensers, air system drying equipment and air system controls.
• Direct and train operators.
• Working knowledge of department computers.
• Perform tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and completed training in a technical school for Refrigeration.
• 3 + years of experience in Industrial Refrigeration.
• Must have a clear understanding of refrigerant expansion with pressure temperature variables.
• Must have essential physical and mental capabilities in the following: Interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, follow directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing and innovation.
• Must have good client/customer service skills.
• Able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Able to work effectively with a team.
• Able to work independently as needed to support the group effort.
• Must be available to work overtime (including weekends) to perform preventative maintenance tasks during downtime.

Qualifications

• CFC/EPA Certifications preferred.
