Refrigeration Engineer

About the role

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a results-oriented Service Manager in Lyndhurst, VA. This role oversees a team of field service technicians and serves as the primary point of contact for customer facility and operations staff regarding industrial refrigeration systems.

Key Duties

• Maintain strong relationships with facility personnel, operations managers, and corporate leaders
• Schedule work and travel for a team of field service technicians
• Quote service, repair, and upgrade projects
• Manage service work orders using an online service platform
• Coordinate customer communications and address service inquiries
• Source and secure required materials and equipment; manage deliveries
• Issue purchase orders and ensure billing accuracy
• Resolve vendor disputes and manage credit requests
• Collaborate with subcontractors to complete service projects
• Schedule inspections and additional service tasks as needed
• Prepare sales orders for accurate customer billing
• Participate in the on-call rotation, which includes one weekend per quarter and one weekday per week, providing remote troubleshooting support

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office programs
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Effective problem-solving and multitasking abilities
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Strong phone and email communication presence

Preferences

• Prior experience in construction, automotive, or HVAC industries
• Mechanically inclined
• Quick to adapt to new software platforms
• Capable of making sound business decisions within budget, with minimal supervision
