Refrigeration Boiler Technician 2nd Shift

About the role

The Refrigeration Technician supports industrial maintenance operations through corrective, preventative, and predictive maintenance. This role focuses on installing, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial refrigeration and utility systems, including ammonia refrigeration, HVAC, boilers, steam, water, gas, and compressed air systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service boiler and cooling systems, including condensate return, feed water, economizers, and chemical treatment systems
• Monitor system performance, adjust controls to maintain proper pressure and temperature
• Diagnose equipment issues using root cause analysis to implement long-term solutions
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance, including PSM, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and food safety programs such as USDA, HACCP, GMP, and SQF
• Track performance metrics (KPIs) to support continuous improvement and ensure all maintenance activities align with company safety and quality standards

Requirements

• Associate's degree from two-year college or technical school in mechanical and/or electrical field preferred or equivalent related experience
• RETA certificate strongly preferred

Physical Demands

• Regularly stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
• Frequently walk and reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

• Exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions
• Occasional exposure to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
