Refinery Site Manager (Downstream Chemicals) - Lemont, IL

The Downstream Chemicals Team utilizes technology consisting of specialty chemicals, equipment, digital tools and over 100 years of industry knowledge to deliver value to our customers. The Refinery Site Manager partners with the best to provide a vital service by implementing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and evaluating chemical treatment programs. They lead and develop a collaborative team to solve complex and interesting technical problems.
Responsibilities
- Safely manage day-to-day operations of refinery process, finished fuels, and water treatment programs to ensure performance and value delivery for our customers
- Manage a team of Account Representatives and Technicians at our customer’s location in Lemont, IL
- Develop trusted relationships with customers and cross-functional teams to promote collaboration
- Apply account management fundamentals to understand customer needs, requirements and potential sales opportunities while supporting the account P&L
- Identify and coordinate numerous projects of varying complexity to bring value to our customers
- Routine monitoring and reporting of performance of existing treatment programs
- Collaborate with team members to drive technical sales and innovative solutions that bring value to our customers
- Collect and interpret data for troubleshooting, service reports, meetings, reviews, and presentations delivered to customers
- Provide field support, laboratory analysis and technical guidance for our customers on issues, projects, turn-arounds, shut-downs, and daily operations
- Manage chemical inventories and deliveries at the customer location
Requirements
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (preferred) or similar discipline
- Have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Refining, supporting hydrocarbon process and finished fuels additives treatment programs
- Possess strong understanding of industrial chemical treatment technology and sales process
- Have strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Have previous experience working in a laboratory setting and/or familiarity with analytical methods and interpretation
- Have a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and refinery market conditions
- Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Be able to drive a company vehicle as required to perform job duties (motor vehicle record checks will be performed to determine eligibility to drive a company vehicle)
- Possess A TWIC Card or have the ability to obtain a TWIC Card
- Reside in a commutable distance to Lemont, IL

Pay
The annual pay scale for this position is between $76,800.00 - $190,900.00.
Schedule
Typical hours will be Monday – Friday, 7am - 4pm (must be willing and able to support the business after hours as-required).
