Responsibilities
- Establish effective communication systems and mutually beneficial relationships with external and internal suppliers and partners
- Create and maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety
- Maintain complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information
- Assemble complete information concerning patient’s clinical background and referral needs
- Per referral guidelines, provide appropriate clinical information to specialist
Requirements
- 2 years Healthcare Medical Receptionist/Information Clerk required
- Two years of related clinical experience required, preferably in ambulatory care, community public health, case or care management, or coordinating care across multiple settings and with multiple providers
- Two years of experience in information systems with scheduling and resource management emphasis, highly desirable
- 3 years of related experience, preferably in patient access, scheduling or pre-registration
- Ability to understand basic clinical terminology and medical insurance terminology across multiple clinic specialties and with multiple providers
Qualifications

Skills
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of insurance coverage and documentation of authorizations
- Ability to assemble and provide clinical information
