Referral and Registration Center Representative

About the role

Independence Physician Management (IPM) is the physician services unit of UHS, developing and managing multi‑specialty physician networks and urgent‑care clinics across 13 markets in 7 states. The Referral and Registration Representative provides accurate and efficient referral and registration services for UHS’s acute‑care hospitals and physician networks, including physician referral services, class and event registrations, service‑line referrals, general information, and appointment facilitation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records within a shared database.
• Process inbound physician referral calls, match callers with doctors, and facilitate appointment scheduling.
• Process inbound calls for registration in hospital seminars, screenings, and education classes.
• Process digital requests for physician referrals.
• Contribute to team goals and achieve individual performance targets.
• Collect and accurately document caller demographics.
• Interact appropriately with physicians’ office staff.
• Continuously practice the Standards of UHS Service Excellence program in all job‑related functions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Customer service experience.
• Medical terminology/health‑insurance navigation preferred.
• Professional phone etiquette and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to conduct effective internet searches.
• Call/contact‑center experience a plus.
• Bilingual ability a plus.
• Strong desire to work within a team structure.

Schedule

Hours: 11:30 am – 8:00 pm, Monday – Friday (remote opportunity).
