About the Role

Mobile devices present unique security risks because their size and nature generally puts them at higher exposure to threats than stationary devices. Lost and stolen mobile devices remain a top cause of data breaches. This role involves creating and enforcing policies and practices to reduce the risk of damages resulting from lost or stolen mobile devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a company mobile device security policy that outlines rules for using company mobile devices and penalties for non-compliance.
• Include best practices in the policy to reduce mobile device risks, such as required employee training on safe and proper use of mobile devices for business purposes.
• Ensure regular installation of security patches and updates on all software, including anti-virus software, to address vulnerabilities.
• Enforce password protection and full encryption on all mobile devices to comply with state data breach notification laws.
• Utilize all built-in security measures available on devices (e.g., touch identification).
• Facilitate regular backups of mobile devices to ensure data remains safe and accessible in case of loss or theft.

Requirements

• Experience in developing and enforcing mobile device security policies.
• Knowledge of best practices for mobile device security and risk reduction.
• Familiarity with state data breach notification laws and encryption safe harbors.
• Understanding of software vulnerabilities and the importance of regular updates and patches.
