About the role
As a Red Fruit Operator for Materne North America, you will be responsible for the operation of machinery on our high-speed production and food processing lines.
Responsibilities
- Operate high-speed manufacturing equipment through touchscreen/HMI
- Read schematics and diagrams to monitor machine activity (flow, machine status, temperature settings, level indication)
- Inspect product as it moves through manufacturing process for quality
- Conduct sample testing and record data (viscosity, pH, titrations, bricks, etc.)
- Operate industrial carts, power hand carts, and forklifts
- Perform troubleshooting and basic maintenance of equipment
- Clean work area and sanitize equipment
- Complete daily paperwork and reports
- Operate capture tank fill station and monitor filling
- Clean capture tanks as needed
- Perform consumption transactions on the computer (VIF)
- Work with computer interface to monitor raw material usage
- Monitor and record production yield and waste
- Perform and complete sensory testing
- Demonstrate the Company’s values and winning behaviors while adhering to all company policies and practices, including safety and environmental protocols, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Technical/trade school preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
- Previous experience working in the food industry is preferred
Skills
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and commitment to quality in all aspects of job performance
- Ability to communicate (verbal, read, write) effectively in English
- Computer skills (data entry & experience with an ERP system in a production environment preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills, including competency with weights and measures (must be able to take/record measurements and understand tare weight)
- Ability to be resourceful and identify creative solutions to complex challenges
- Must be self-driven and maintain high expectations for personal performance
- Ability to work collaboratively with others
Physical Requirements
- Must be able work in normal office conditions and in the manufacturing plant, which includes wearing safety shoes, hairnet, smock, ear plugs and safety glasses
- Must be able to work 12 hours per day and be on one’s feet for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally
Schedule
There are 4 open positions for this role on each shift:
- A- Sunday-Tuesday E/O Wednesday 7a-7p. There is a $2 differential for this shift.
- B- Sunday-Tuesday E/O Wednesday 7p-7a. There is a $2 differential for this shift.
- C- Thursday- Saturday E/O Wednesday 7a-7p
- D- Thursday- Saturday E/O Wednesday 7p-7a. There is a $4 differential for this shift.
