Overview
The Recycling Associate is a utility position responsible for maintaining the facilities and overseeing recycling operations. This role requires a versatile individual capable of handling multiple responsibilities, ensuring the smooth operation of facility maintenance tasks, and managing recycling processes efficiently.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities, including waste management and recycling areas
- Manage recycling operations, including the collection, sorting, and processing of recyclable materials
- Operate and maintain can crushing machinery and other recycling equipment
- Monitor inventory levels of recycling materials and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all activities
- Assist in developing and implementing facility maintenance schedules
- Coordinate with external vendors for facility repairs and maintenance services
- Process and sort redemptions in compliance with state regulations
- Sort, load, and inventory vendor commodities for state reporting
- Coordinate customer redemptions within mandated timelines
- Repack damaged goods and maintain inventory quality standards
- Assist with unloading and segregating route trucks
- Maintain CRC and warehouse cleanliness to company standards
- Prepare reports on facility maintenance and recycling activities for management review
- Provide support in emergency situations such as equipment breakdowns or facility issues
- Train new employees on facility maintenance procedures and recycling operations
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize recycling processes and facility operations
- Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions
- Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Experience in facility maintenance and repair
- Ability to operate recycling equipment and machinery
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations and practices
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- Must be able to frequently lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 48 pounds
- Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jacks, and battery change stations
- Work may involve repetitive motions, working at varying heights, and exposure to warehouse environmental conditions
- Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak‑season schedules may be required
Pay
Hourly pay rate of $21 / hour.
Schedule
Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5:30pm
