Recycling Associate, Semi, Powertrain

The Recycling Associate is part of a larger Workplace team responsible for ensuring the Gigafactory Nevada is clean and organized. This role involves:

• Transporting recyclables, scrap, and trash throughout the factory
• Sorting and segregating materials to maximize value
• Operating heavy equipment such as cardboard balers, pallet jacks, and foam densifiers
• Maintaining a clean and professional appearance, confidentiality, and asset protection
• Adhering to quality expectations and safety standards
• Reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions
• Supporting cross-functional teams and performing other reasonable job duties as requested
• Working in various weather conditions

This position requires physical activity and the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor settings, including heat, cold, wet, and dry conditions.

Qualifications

• One year or more prior recycling, construction, landscaping, shipping, warehouse, custodial, or grounds maintenance experience preferred
• Comfortable driving and operating heavy equipment for this role, with previous experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to learn new skills and adapt to new work environments
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Punctuality and a professional, can-do attitude
• Open to flexible schedules, including weekends
• Command of the English language, both written and verbal

Essential Physical Demands

• Ability to perform physically demanding work and repetitive duties
• Frequent lifting, pushing, carrying up to 50 lbs., climbing stairs, and bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and crawling
• Standing and walking for up to 12 hours/day
• Carrying 20 lbs. up and down stairs
• Bending, lifting, reaching, and manipulating tooling
• Handling and fastening bolts quickly and accurately
• Using safety equipment and following waste handling procedures
