About the role

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram seeks a Research Associate to contribute to the project titled "Chromosomal features governing crossover pathway choice," funded by the Department of Biotechnology.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct basic research in genome stability using yeast as a model system.
  • Participate in experiments related to chromosomal features and crossover pathways.
  • Write and publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and contribute to the team's objectives.

Requirements

  • Ph.D in Life Sciences (or equivalent) with a strong focus on genetics, genomics, or cytology.
  • At least one published paper in a peer-reviewed journal.
  • Experience with molecular biology, genetic, genomic, or cytological studies in yeast.
  • Highly motivated to conduct research in genome stability.
  • Age below 35 years with relaxation as per government norms.

Qualifications

  • Completed Ph.D in Life Sciences.
  • Desirable to have prior experience in yeast genetics/genomics/cytology.

Skills

  • Strong background in molecular biology.
  • Experience with yeast genetics and genomics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Pay

Rs. 47,000 + HRA

Schedule

Duration: 11 months
