About the role
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram seeks a Research Associate to contribute to the project titled "Chromosomal features governing crossover pathway choice," funded by the Department of Biotechnology.
Responsibilities
- Conduct basic research in genome stability using yeast as a model system.
- Participate in experiments related to chromosomal features and crossover pathways.
- Write and publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals.
- Collaborate with other researchers and contribute to the team's objectives.
Requirements
- Ph.D in Life Sciences (or equivalent) with a strong focus on genetics, genomics, or cytology.
- At least one published paper in a peer-reviewed journal.
- Experience with molecular biology, genetic, genomic, or cytological studies in yeast.
- Highly motivated to conduct research in genome stability.
- Age below 35 years with relaxation as per government norms.
Qualifications
- Completed Ph.D in Life Sciences.
- Desirable to have prior experience in yeast genetics/genomics/cytology.
Skills
- Strong background in molecular biology.
- Experience with yeast genetics and genomics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Pay
Rs. 47,000 + HRA
