Recruitment Events Specialist (Part-Time)
About the role
The Recruitment Events Specialist (Part-Time) supports membership growth by coordinating community-based recruitment events and lead generation efforts. This role focuses on identifying and organizing opportunities to connect with families through schools, festivals, community events, and other local activities. The position combines event coordination, logistics, and process management to support successful recruitment efforts and connect more families with opportunities to participate.
Responsibilities
- Identify, coordinate, and maintain a calendar of community events, school opportunities, festivals, and other local activities that support recruitment goals.
- Care for logistics for recruitment events including scheduling, registration, materials, staffing, and event preparation.
- Evaluate recruitment event opportunities and recommend participation based on expected outcomes and community needs.
- Ensure recruitment materials are prepared, organized, and available for successful event execution.
- Support seasonal recruitment staff by ensuring they have the tools, information, and materials needed to be successful at events.
- Represent the organization at community events and engage positively with families, volunteers, and community partners.
- Clearly communicate program opportunities and how families can get involved.
- Track recruitment event outcomes, including number of leads collected and event effectiveness.
- Monitor trends and identify opportunities to improve recruitment event efforts.
- Support the development and improvement of recruitment processes.
- Maintain inventory of recruitment and tabling materials to ensure event readiness, including ordering and restocking supplies, giveaway items, and event materials.
- Manage volunteer requests and distribution of recruitment materials to support local outreach.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Two years of professional experience.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to travel throughout council area.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Comfortable using spreadsheets and digital tools to track information.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience working in diverse communities and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices.
Preferred
- Experience in a nonprofit, youth-serving, or community-focused organization.
- Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish, Hmong, and/or Somali, and willingness to use these skills as part of their work.
- Experience with outside sales, event coordination, customer service, recruitment, nonprofit work, or a related field.

Pay
$23.68-$23.85 per hour
Schedule
Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, year-round. Schedule includes a mix of daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours based on event and recruitment needs. Required in-office presence on Tuesdays for team meetings. Must be able to transport, lift, and set up recruitment materials for community events. Reliable transportation required.
