About the role
As a Recruiter I, you will recruit students to attend Grayson College through various communication methods such as phone, email, and in-person visits. You will share information about career pathways and majors, gather student documents, provide outreach to prospective students, analyze transcripts for college placement, and admit students to the college. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and accuracy in maintaining student records.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a primary representative of Grayson College, sharing information about the college and enrollment process in person, by phone, or electronically (40%).
- Assists students with pathway selection, advises on required admissions documents, and gathers/processes these documents (30%).
- Maintains accurate records of prospective student contacts (15%).
- Evaluates student transcripts, transcribes transfer coursework, AP, college prep, and test scores (10%).
- Assists with new student orientation and advising as needed (5%).
- Performs other job duties as assigned (5%).

Requirements
- Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
- Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) Completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school, or (3) Completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Experience working with specific student populations may be required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with relationship-building and marketing abilities.
- Ability to provide a high level of service to the community.
Physical Requirements
- Office work is typically sedentary but may require travel by car to recruiting events.
- Event setup and participation may require walking, standing, bending, and moderate lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to typical office conditions.
- Special events may require outdoor work or visits to schools and community partner sites.
Pay
$17.40 - $26.09 per hour.
