Recreational Therapist (CTR) - Pediatrics

Position Overview
The Recreational Therapist is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating both individualized and group recreational therapy programming for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities within a pediatric specialty care environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct recreational therapy assessments upon admission and annually thereafter
- Develop therapeutic recreation goals and individualized programming
- Lead and participate in 1:1 and group activities
- Create engaging monthly activity calendars
- Cook up and coordinate community outings and special events
- Support individuals with activities of daily living as needed
- Document progress toward goals and developmental milestones
- Foster socialization, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and community engagement
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited college or university
- Recreational Therapist Certification required
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Valid driver’s license required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
