About the role
Provides therapeutic recreation services to clients in a variety of settings.
Responsibilities
- Develops and implements recreational programs that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive health.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Assesses client needs and progress, and modifies programs accordingly.
- Monitors client participation and safety during activities.
- Documents client progress and program outcomes in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Participates in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
- Current California license as a Recreational Therapist.
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
