Recreational Activity Aide
Responsibilities
Mental Health Technicians provide routine non-acute physical care for the patient as well as educational groups based on needs identified in the Master Treatment Plan.
- Assist in organizing recreational therapy sessions to interact with patients and offer recommendations for physical and mental wellness.
- Aid in maintaining high quality documentation of all therapy services consistent with the hospital’s policies.
- Affirm treatment plans are suitable for patients' physical condition and are in accordance with the hospital policies and the patients' preferences.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Some college course work preferred.
Experience: May be accepted in lieu of college course work.
Qualifications
Must demonstrate basic knowledge of emotional and mental health and disease concepts including the disease of addiction.
Must have clear communication / interaction skills and demonstrate competency in facilitating psycho-education groups.
