Recreation Therapy Aide

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Create and implement activity plans for residents, including small groups, special events, and entertainment.
• Motivate residents for participation in activities, providing escort if necessary.
• Modify programs to meet individual resident needs and maintain participation logs.
• Attend meetings as required and participate in educational programs and in-services as mandated.
• Plan and/or accompany residents on outings.
• Understand and follow universal precautions and MSDS books.
• Review evaluations on new residents completed by the Manager Recreation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Other: Pushing/pulling wheelchairs, climbing ladders, using push carts for decorations or supplies, extensive standing/walking.
• Working under quarantine, universal precautions, occasional long hours, ongoing exposure to resident behaviors.
