About the role
This position is located at Fort Huachuca Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation: Mountain View Golf Course.
Responsibilities
- Performs repair work on a variety of gas and diesel powered equipment including gas powered rental golf cars, multi-gang mowers, tractor drawn mowers, greens mowers, aerators and other mechanical equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctions of equipment to determine the source of trouble, extent of repairs required, and the tools and parts necessary to successfully make repairs.
- Accomplishes minor engine repairs by cleaning, adjusting, and/or replacing defective parts of components and systems, including wheel cylinders, mufflers, brake shoes, carburetors, etc.
- Makes fabrication repairs to equipment to include using a torch and welding.
Requirements
- Must have the knowledge required to diagnose and determine source of malfunctions and the skill to make necessary repairs to a variety of Turf related equipment and hydraulic drive motors, their components and electrical systems.
- Must have the knowledge and skill necessary to make fabrication repairs to equipment to include using a torch and welding.
Qualifications

- A qualified candidate must possess the following:
- Must have mechanical experience as they will be working on golf course machinery.
Benefits
Incentives and Bonuses: Incentives will not be paid. Subsequent referrals to the Hiring Manager will occur weekly. The first cut-off date for this position will be July 1st, 2026. Then every Wednesday thereafter until all positions are filled.
Pay
This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
Schedule
Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
Skills
Must be willing and able to lift 40lbs and complete a pre-employment physical.
