Recreation Assistant (Marina)
About the role
This position involves managing and maintaining the daily operations of a marina or sailing facility. Duties include preparing and maintaining administrative reports, performing routine operations, providing safety briefings, monitoring supplies, coordinating schedules, and assisting with administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and maintains required administrative reports and forms.
- Performs numerous duties for successful daily operations.
- Demonstrates safe use of equipment and techniques for various activities in marina settings.
- Provides pre-programmed and impromptu activities.
- Briefs customers on safety procedures and techniques.
- Maintains effective controls for receipt and safekeeping of all cash.
- Maintains and coordinates the master event schedule.
- Ensures all events and schedules are communicated to the marketing office.
- Assists with administrative duties such as inventory, answering phones, and signing up participants.
- Operates government-owned motor vehicles.
- Must meet Federal Employment suitability requirements and successfully complete background investigation.
- Must successfully pass E-verify employment verification check.
- Must have or be able to obtain certain certifications within 90 days of hire.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Requirements
Knowledge of marina operations, daily facility operations, recreational activities, boating terminology, and safety practices. Ability to operate motor vehicles, follow instructions, and provide excellent customer service. Must be able to obtain certain certifications within 90 days of hire.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. An associate's degree is preferred if the applicant does not have the required experience. Specialized experience must demonstrate knowledge of marina operations and ability to perform administrative duties.
