Recreation Assistant

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Recreation Director in providing recreational therapy and general recreation services to youth living in the Southmountain Children and Family Services Foster Community.
• Assist in every step of the treatment delivery process, including assessment of client functioning, treatment and intervention planning, activity implementation, evaluation of services, and discharge planning.
• Assist in orienting and supervising agency volunteers and interns.
• Participate in regular staff training and client staffings and report directly to the Recreation Director for regular supervision.
• This position is full-time 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, but requires flexibility for after-hour activities.

Qualifications

• Completed or currently completing a Therapeutic Recreation-related degree.
• Experience in working with children and families.
• Experience working with families affected by trauma is preferred.
• 1-year of Recreation Therapy experience.
