Recreation Assistant

Responsibilities

• Aids residents to and from social, cultural, and therapeutic programs.
• Makes a mini assessment on residents' leisure interests and pursuits upon their admission.
• Encourages active resident participation with an energetic outlook.
• Keeps a daily log of program participants.
• Networks to generate ideas for diverse programs on the monthly calendar.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy preferred.
• Certification in Recreational Therapy preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Flexible with work hours, including every other weekend and potentially two evenings per month or as needed.
• Two to three years experience in recreational programming in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
