Recreation Assistant

About the Role

Encourage, recruit, register, and schedule guests to participate in recreation activities. Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere while providing information about available recreation facilities and activities. Ensure guest safety by promoting and enforcing recreation facility rules and regulations. Observe activity in the facility and respond appropriately in emergencies according to local operating procedures. Identify and report situations where guests may not safely participate in activities.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain recreational equipment and supplies.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; complete required safety training and certifications.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, including maintaining a clean and professional appearance, protecting proprietary information, and safeguarding company assets.
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards; anticipate and address service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships; support team goals.
  • Process payments for rental equipment, recreation activities, facility rentals, or retail sales.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Read and verify information in various formats (e.g., small print).
  • Inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
  • Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems to enter and locate work-related information.
  • Perform physical tasks, including standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods; moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 25 pounds without assistance and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Navigate narrow, confined, or elevated spaces; move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, stairs, and service ramps.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • CPR Certification.
  • First Aid Certification.
  • Recreation Equipment certification or training required by local and state agencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • No prior related work experience required.
  • No supervisory experience required.
